Officer, Enterprise Risk Management

In this role you will partner with WME leadership to strengthen risk management across operations, with a focus on regulatory alignment, outsourcing, and risk controls. You will support the Board and senior management in setting risk appetite and ensuring effective risk identification, monitoring, and mitigation. The role spans EU regulatory requirements, third-party risk, and incident response, contributing to a robust risk culture. You will collaborate across ERM to implement risk frameworks and reporting for senior leadership and regulators. This is a hands-on, cross-border position offering meaningful impact on operational resilience and regulatory standing.

• Partner with senior management on risk policy, strategy, and framework
• Support risk appetite and tolerance setting for WME
• Identify, measure, and monitor risks; advise on controls and processes
• Implement and review risk policies to support governance
• Maintain healthy risk culture and mitigation strategies with ERM
• Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk framework
• Own risk aspects of annual regulatory audit
• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and Board
• Liaise with regulators on risk management and outsourcing
• Coordinate ICT security and DORA compliance with the ICT Security Officer
• Project manage risk-related activities and audits
• Oversee regional branches from a risk perspective
• Lead EU regulatory risk implementation and incident response
• Support enhancement of operational resilience and governance frameworks
• Coordinate EMEA risk appetite statements and RMFs; support ERM processes

• Minimum 6 years of operational risk management in investment management
• Experience developing and managing operational risk frameworks from a German regulatory perspective
• Consulting/advisory experience and professional certifications are a plus
• Identifying and mitigating global operational risks in investment management
• Ability to lead regional activities autonomously while collaborating globally
• Strong understanding of WpIG, MaRisk, DORA, outsourcing, third-party risk, and operational resilience
• Experience building and implementing key components of a risk management framework
• Advising on controls design and risk monitoring for a client-focused platform
• Strong collaboration, advisory, and stakeholder management with regulators and governance committees
• Ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities at firm-wide and regional levels
• Leadership of diverse working groups and project teams
• Governance, risk, and compliance tool implementation
• Fluency or advanced level in German and English
• Experience with outsourcing, third-party risk management, ICT risk management, and resilience frameworks
• Willingness to travel within the region and knowledge of local regulatory expectations
