Offshore Dredging Manager (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Dredging Manager (m/w/d) to join a major infrastructure pipeline project at the beginning of next year. The role involves working in the offices in Kassel and Wilhelmshaven but also remotely.

Tasks May Include

• Providing expert consultancy and advisory services for offshore (NG/H2) pipeline projects, brings professional assessment with solid experience in dredging, trenching, soil intervention works and backfilling activities. Also oversights of near shore and shallow water works in a tidal and strong morphodynamical environment.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensure safe, timely and cost-effective construction.
• Understanding relevant engineering and design documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, German regulations, regulatory requirements and environmental constraints.
• Offer technical guidance and support project teams and stakeholders, coordination and monitoring of institutions, contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
• Lead and coordinate technical reviews and audits to ensure high quality and efficiency, monitoring and technical assessments of contractors.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for executive management.
• Review and coordinate of project documentation, methodologies, as well as bill of quantities, acceptance of services, conducting supplementary negotiations.
• Processing of tasks for functional, on-time and cost-oriented project management in cooperation with engineering, construction and installation companies.
• Preparation of tender documents (e.g. preliminary technical remarks, service descriptions/lists) and participation in the awarding and ordering of services.
• Development of standards and preparation of project-specific technical documents for the design and installation of offshore pipelines.
• Implementation and monitoring of HSE requirements

Requirements & Your Expertise

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (4–5 years) in a technical discipline, preferably Coastal Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Civil Engineering or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification supported by relevant professional experience (mandatory).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional and practical experience in offshore projects, with a strong focus on offshore pipeline-related dredging activities in shallow and deep water, including nearshore works, landfall activities, intervention works and seabed preparation (mandatory).
• Demonstrated senior-level management, supervisory and coordination responsibility, including a proven track record in the successful management and completion of large-diameter offshore pipeline projects, with documented awareness of environmental requirements applicable in German and EU waters.
• Recent project experience (not older than 5 years) in senior roles such as Project Management Consultant (PMC), Owner’s Engineer and/or comparable offshore dredging or construction management positions within large-scale offshore or energy infrastructure projects.
• Extensive, application-oriented knowledge of offshore dredging and trenching techniques and equipment, including nearshore and deep-water dredging, trenching, intervention works and seabed preparation, as well as thorough familiarity with relevant international standards and regulations such as DNV‑ST‑F101 and comparable offshore construction codes.
• Proven leadership capability and strong team collaboration skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary offshore teams and contractors.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to interact and negotiate confidently with authorities, regulatory bodies, contractors, suppliers, clients and other key stakeholders.
• High resilience and ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing complex offshore dredging and construction challenges, interfaces and schedules.
• Strong coordination and communication skills combined with a structured, quality-driven and results-oriented working style.
• Very good IT user skills, particularly in MS Office, with demonstrated willingness and ability to familiarize oneself with new digital tools and project systems as required.
• Willingness to travel and to attend offshore, site-based and project execution activities in line with operational requirements.
• Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) (mandatory).
• German language skills are desirable but not mandatory.
