A sad Raza Exhibition at E-W ER K Luckenwalde
E-W ER K Luckenwalde is seeking people to participate in a new exhibition by artist Asad Raza.
Running from September 2026 until April 2027.
The project includes E-W ER K's next Turbine Hall Commission along side a wider exhibition. It spans the site's historic Engineering Room, exhibition spaces, and outdoor grounds.
The Conductors will play an essential role in bringing the project to life. Working closely with the artist, they will guide visitors through the exhibition according to a framework developed by Raza, engaging audiences in conversations, enounte rs, and experiences through the site.
We’re looking for curious, communicative, attentive, and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in working with people and participating in a unique artistic project. Participants should be comfortable signing a simple melody. How ever, previous experience in the arts, performance, education, mediation, or guiding is not required. We welcome applications from people with diverse professional, educational, and personal backgrounds.
Commitment
This is a freelance position during the exhibition period, with a variable weekly/monthly schedule based on program needs. The exhibition is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Performers may be assigned to one or both weekend days depending on rota planning and program requirements. On site as accommodation between the two days, in a private room with shared bath or shower and kitchen, etc, is available on request.
Each shift includes paid preparation time before where necessary (e.g. arrival briefing, set up, or rehearsals), with exact call times communicated in advance.
In addition to regular weekend shifts, performers may occasionally be invited to take part in special events, performances, or public programme activities taking place outside standard opening hours. Participation in these additional activities will be confirmed separately and scheduled in advance where possible.
A general availability of approximately 6-12 hours per month during the exhibition period is expected, with flexibility required depending on program intensity and event scheduling.
All preparation, rehearsals, performance, and on-site standby time is remunerated at a fixed brutto hourly rate of €30/hour. Each engagement includes a minimum paid call of 3 hours per shift, regardless of shorter working time.
Asad Raza (born 1974, Buffalo, USA) is internationally recognised for creating immersive, participatory environments that invite audiences to engage.
Works across installation, performance, ecology, and public space.
E-W ER K Luckenwalde is a not-for-profit regenerative power station, contemporary art centre, and Kunststrom research laboratory located in Brandenburg, approximately 30 minutes south of Berlin. Founded in 2019, E-W ER K pioneers alternative ecological and economic models for cultural institutions. Situated within a former coal-fired power station built in 1913, the site was reactivated as a regenerative Kunststrom power station by artist Pablo Wendel and today combines energy production, artistic research, exhibitions, and public programmes.
