We are currently recruiting for an open-topic PhD position (funded) in housing studies (sociology of housing) at the University of Stuttgart, to be undertaken in close collaboration with me. I am seeking a dedicated individual who is keen to help shape the future of housing studies at our institute. Based at one of Germany’s largest and most exciting schools of architecture and urban planning, the position is located in an attractive city surrounded by vineyards and in close proximity to the Black Forest… Our new Sociology of Architecture and Housing unit is friendly and collegial; knowledge of German is not required. I particularly welcome PhD projects that critically engage with the causes and consequences of housing inequality; situate the housing question within the context of class inequality; explore new forms of housing; or develop and apply innovative methodological approaches (both quantitative and qualitative).
