About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Database Security & Control Specialist to join our security function in Frankfurt. This senior role focuses on database security control onboarding, compliance, audit readiness, and Oracle database security engineering.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, CSO, and Audit teams to ensure security controls are effectively designed, implemented, documented, and evidenced across enterprise platforms.

Qualifications
Security & Compliance Expertise
- Proven experience in security engineering, security architecture, or security compliance roles
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Hands‑on experience with regulatory and compliance requirements such as SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA
- Experience with security controls including:
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Network security
- Vulnerability management
- SIEM solutions
- Extensive experience in Oracle database installation, configuration, administration, and security hardening
- In‑depth knowledge of Oracle security capabilities such as TDE, auditing, and access controls
- Experience with database patching, upgrades, and performance tuning from a security perspective
- Exposure to other database technologies (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL) is an advantage
Delivery & Project Management
- Strong experience managing and implementing security controls end‑to‑end
- Familiarity with delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
- Hands‑on experience using tools such as JIRA, Asana, or Microsoft Project
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to translate complex security concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Proven stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration experience
- Analytical, proactive, self‑motivated, and capable of working independently or within a team
- Fluent in English and German language proficiency is good to have
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, Oracle Certified Professional (Security), or similar are highly desirable
