You Are
Accenture is seeking a skilled Oracle Service Order Management (SOM) and Field Activity (FA) Designer to join our enterprise technology team. This role is central to the design, configuration, and optimization of field service and work order processes within the Oracle Customer Cloud Service (CCS) / CC&B platform.
You will be responsible for translating complex utility field operations requirements into robust, scalable Oracle SOM/FA functional designs; ensuring seamless coordination between customer service, field operations, metering, and back‑office systems across our U.S. service territories.
The Work
Design & Configuration
- Lead the functional design and configuration of Oracle CCS Service Order Management (SOM) and Field Activity (FA) modules, including activity types, service order types, dispatch groups, scheduling parameters, and completion rules.
- Design end‑to‑end field activity workflows covering service connects/disconnects, meter installations and exchanges, premise inspections, on‑demand reads, remote disconnect/reconnect, and emergency field response.
- Configure Field Activity Remarketing rules, activity completion processing, and downstream triggers to billing, metering, and market transaction processes.
- Design and document Service Order lifecycle flows — creation, dispatch, execution, completion, and exception handling; aligned with U.S. utility field operations models.
- Define premise, service point, meter, and device configuration standards within Oracle CCS to support accurate FA execution and data capture.
Integration & Interoperability
- Collaborate with integration architects to design data flows between Oracle CCS SOM/FA and external systems including FFS, WACS, GIS, OMS, AMI Head‑End Systems (HES), and third‑party field dispatch platforms.
- Support the design of real‑time and batch interfaces for field activity dispatch, status updates, and completion data exchange.
- Participate in the design of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or equivalent middleware flows supporting SOM/FA transactions.
Requirements & Documentation
- Facilitate business requirements workshops with Field Operations, Customer Service, Metering, and Engineering stakeholders to capture and validate SOM/FA business processes.
- Produce high‑quality functional design documents (FDDs), configuration workbooks, process flow diagrams, and data mapping specifications.
- Conduct fit/gap analysis between Oracle CCS SOM/FA standard functionality and utility‑specific business requirements; propose and document solutions.
- Ensure SOM/FA designs comply with applicable U.S. utility regulatory requirements, including state PUC service connection/disconnection rules, safety standards, and customer protection regulations.
- Align field activity processes with OSHA, DOT, and utility‑specific safety and operational standards.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here’s what you need:
- Minimum of 3 years of functional experience with Oracle Utilities CC&B or Customer Cloud Service (CCS) in a U.S. utility environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct, hands‑on experience designing and configuring Oracle CCS/CC&B Service Order Management (SOM) and Field Activity (FA) modules.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in U.S. utility field operations, FA activity types, dispatch group configuration, scheduling rules, completion processing logic, and SOM/FA integration patterns with Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) and AMI head‑end systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years’ work experience). If Associate’s Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6‑year work experience.
Bonus points if:
- You have an Oracle Utilities CCS Cloud or CC&B certification.
- You have experience with Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) — particularly its integration with CCS SOM/FA for dispatch and completion.
- You have familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or MuleSoft in the context of SOM/FA integrations.
- You have experience supporting AMI‑driven field activity automation — remote connect/disconnect, on‑demand read workflows, and meter exchange programs.
- You have a background in gas utility field operations including leak surveys, pressure tests, and safety inspection activity design.
- You have prior experience on a large‑scale Oracle CCS implementation, upgrade, or cloud migration within a U.S. utility.
- You have knowledge of GIS‑integrated field dispatching and location‑based service order routing.
- You have familiarity with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for SOM/FA operational reporting and KPI dashboards.
