We are looking for a full-time, permanent ORM / Social Media Manager to start as soon as possible. We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations (Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich).

As our new ORM / Social Media Manager , you will be the person who makes Contabo's shift from an affordable VPS provider to a reliable, AI ready, developer friendly infrastructure brand real, in the exact communities where developers, DevOps engineers, and AI practitioners actually talk. You build that credibility from the ground up, combining daily community intelligence with real commercial content production.

Every day, you monitor selected online platforms like Reddit or Discord, triaging brand mentions for further action. You also engage proactively wherever technical conversations happen, from tutorials and GPU workload guides to infrastructure tips and genuine participation in technical discussions, always credibility first and aligned with our tone of voice.

Alongside that, you plan and produce our commercial and marketing content, including product launch announcements, promotional posts, competitor positioning, Contabo Black go-to-market content, event content, and repurposed community threads, all planned in a rolling content calendar, in collaboration with other functions in Marketing. You also write and maintain community intervention playbooks, so the whole team knows how to respond before a situation escalates.

On top of the day to day, you get to build our internal advocacy programme from scratch: you identify technically fluent colleagues across Product and Engineering, bring them on board with clear guidelines, and keep them engaged over time, working toward a team of active online and offline advocates.

You report directly to our Head of Creative Marketing, and the monthly picture you build of sentiment, Share of Voice, and platform activity feeds straight into product and marketing decisions, with real visibility all the way up to our CMO. At its core, this role lives at the intersection of protecting our reputation and driving commercial content forward: someone who speaks the language of developers, but thinks like a marketer.

What convinces us

Your personality, paired with:

• 5 to 7 years of experience in community management, ORM, social media, or content marketing, ideally with some background in producing commercial or marketing content
• Hands-on experience with ORM or social listening platforms (Brandwatch, Mention, Sprinklr, Peec.ai, or similar), and confidence running sentiment analysis and Share of Voice reporting
• Strong social media content creation skills across platform native formats, from Reddit and Discord to LinkedIn and X, paired with real commercial and marketing content production experience such as product marketing copy, promotional posts, and competitor positioning
• Genuine community management and engagement experience with a developer or tech focused audience, and the analytical ability to turn what you see there into decisions
• Strong communication and conflict handling skills, clear goal and result orientation, and the ability to build and grow a network without formal authority
• A proactive, ownership driven mindset: you handle pressure well, stay customer oriented, and hold yourself to a high-performance bar
• An authentic community voice who shows up as a real person rather than a brand account, thinks commercially about when community presence drives business outcomes, and stays composed under public criticism without escalating situations
• AI fluency beyond basic prompting skills

Should have:

• Experience coordinating events or conferences, and managing an ORM agency or similar external vendor relationship
• Strong strategic thinking, genuine team spirit, and openness to change as the role and priorities evolve
• A natural sense of ownership that extends beyond your core tasks
• Real curiosity about the cloud, hosting, and developer ecosystem, and a habit of following those communities on your own
• Industry experience in cloud infrastructure, hosting, SaaS, or developer tools, ideally with a B2B tech marketing background
• Great Reddit karma

Nice to have:

• Spanish or Portuguese for LATAM coverage, and German language skills, are a plus alongside fluent English (C1+)
• ORM or social listening platform certifications, Google Analytics, or AI, SEO, and GAIO monitoring credentials
• A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, though equivalent practical experience with a solid technical understanding works just as well
