Outbound Sales Team Lead - Swiss Market (m/w/d) EU GTM | Cologne, Germany
About the team
SumUp's Sales Development function is one of the fastest-growing parts of our European sales engine — and we're now expanding into Switzerland. We're looking for a Team Lead in Cologne who's ready to build something from scratch: set up the outbound motion for the Swiss market, hire and shape the team, and own the results end-to-end. This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage a playbook that already exists. You'll write it. If you've led teams before, know what great outbound looks like, and are excited by the challenge of entering a new market — this is your moment.
What you'll do
- Build and lead an outbound SDR team focused on the Swiss market — from hiring the first reps to scaling performance
- Design and implement the outbound playbook for Switzerland — sequencing, messaging, tooling, and daily rituals tailored to the Swiss market
- Run daily team rituals that actually matter — standups, call reviews, 1:1s — keeping the team sharp and motivated
- Track KPIs like a hawk — spot performance gaps early and act fast with the right support
- Partner with Sales Managers, RevOps, and the Outbound Growth Lead to align on lead quality, targeting, and sequencing for Switzerland
- Onboard and ramp new SDR hires fast — build the habits that turn new joiners into top performers
- Develop your team's careers — identify high performers and create real pathways into full-cycle sales roles
- Report on team performance and market learnings to senior leadership — trends, blockers, opportunities
You'll be great for this role if…
- You've already built or managed an outbound sales team before — you know what it takes and you're not starting from zero
- You've been a top-performing SDR or outbound sales rep and can teach what great looks like — from prospecting and sequencing to objection handling
- You're excited by the challenge of setting up a new market, not intimidated by the ambiguity that comes with it
- You're hands‑on and energetic — you lead by example and bring the heat even on tough days
- You're analytical and decisive — you use data to diagnose issues and make clear calls
- You communicate with clarity whether you're coaching a rep live or briefing senior stakeholders
- You speak German natively — essential for leading a team targeting Swiss‑German speaking markets — and have a strong level of English for internal comms
- Knowledge of the Swiss market (cultural nuances, business landscape) is a strong plus
