About the role
The People and Safety Support Officer provides efficient, compliant and customer‑focused support to managers and employees across Merri‑bek. The role delivers high‑quality coordination and administrative support across People and Safety functions.
Responsibilities
- Support the recruitment lifecycle: onboarding, document collating and compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and legislative requirements.
- Maintain HR systems and data integrity; track employee movements and restructuring; provide system support to users.
- Prepare, analyse and distribute regular and ad‑hoc HR data reports.
- Deliver first‑line, professional customer service for internal recruitment and HR enquiries.
- Contribute to inclusion and equity initiatives, continuous process enhancements and People and Safety projects.
- Collaborate with the team to support People and Safety priorities and improve the employee experience.
Skills and experience required
- Experience in a similar setting combining recruitment, wellbeing and HR administrative support.
- Proven use of HR databases to update employee information, maintain data integrity and troubleshoot user issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related field (highly desirable).
