The Position

Our PhD course in Medicinal and Process Chemistry offers a unique opportunity for organic and medicinal chemistry PhD students in the second half of their doctoral study to gain insights into how drugs are discovered and developed at Boehringer Ingelheim.

The program provides an in-depth understanding of the role of medicinal chemists and process chemists in pharmaceutical research and development, as well as multidisciplinary industry workflows, helping participants to make informed career decisions.

Program Highlights

• In this course, you will present your research through poster presentations
• Futhermore, you will engage closely with experienced Boehringer Ingelheim scientists and peers
• You will acquire hands-on insights into medicinal and process chemistry as career paths through lectures, interactive sessions, and group challenges
• Moreover, you will tour our state-of-the-art facilities

Requirements

• Applicants should be in their second half of their PhD in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry
• Genuine interest in transitioning from academic research to a career in the pharmaceutical industry
• Availability to attend the full duration of the on-site program from November 25 to 27, 2026, is essential
• Obtain a valid travel visa for entry into Germany to participate in the event
