Planning Engineer

In this role you will lead the development and management of complex project schedules across the full lifecycle, driving on-time delivery for infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to set baselines, monitor progress, and forecast outcomes, ensuring robust planning and controls. You will apply scheduling methodologies, perform risk analyses, and implement change control to minimize delays. This is a hands-on position with a clear impact on project performance and client outcomes.

• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules across all lifecycle phases
• Create and execute planning strategies aligned with milestones and contractual deadlines
• Develop logic-driven schedules using recognized planning methodologies
• Establish baselines, manage updates, and secure approvals throughout the lifecycle
• Monitor progress with actuals, forecast remaining activities and durations
• Produce schedule analyses, progress reports, and critical path assessments with risks and mitigations
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Construction, Clients, and Contractors to support decision-making
• Perform schedule risk analyses and develop contingency plans
• Develop and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to measure performance
• Identify schedule constraints and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure robust change management with audit trails for revisions
• Support continuous improvement of planning processes, methodologies, and reporting
• Mentor junior planners where appropriate

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline
• Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or Project Planner in infrastructure, construction, engineering, energy, or industrial projects
• Strong experience using Primavera P6 (Version 8.2 or later) including resource planning and cost loading
• Experience developing and maintaining complex, logic-driven project schedules
• Solid understanding of planning principles, critical path, forecast, and project controls
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to challenge assumptions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in multidisciplinary and matrix project environments
