PLC Programmer - Oil & Gas Sector, Compression & H2 Technology - Germany, North-Rhine Westphalia/Saxony - Permanent, Competitive Salary & Bonus Scheme

Our client operates globally across the oil and gas sector (including hydrogen) and has experienced consistent growth over the last decade. The feedback we have received from the candidates we have already placed with them has been extremely positive, and my Director and I had the chance to visit their headquarters in Germany last year to meet them in person.

The position includes a company car and all travel expenses will be fully covered. Our client is willing to offer a highly competitive and flexible salary package.

You will play a key role in developing advanced control systems for both in‑house projects and external clients, contributing to high‑performance automation across complex technical environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test PLC‑based control systems for a variety of industrial applications.
• Program and configure control solutions using Siemens TIA Portal, ABB , and other modern automation platforms.
• Implement and validate safety PLCs, interlocks, and HMI/SCADA interfaces to ensure reliable and intuitive system operation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sophisticated automation concepts from initial design to commissioning.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, and optimisation during on‑site deployments when required.

Requirements:

• Degree or technician qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Strong practical experience with Siemens TIA Portal or ABB, safety PLCs, and industrial automation architectures.
• Solid understanding of automation engineering, process control, and industrial communication protocols.
• Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally internationally for commissioning or project support.
• Confident communication skills in German and English.

Interviews are taking place over the next two weeks. The process consists of two stages: a 30‑minute Teams call with the Managing Director, followed by a fully paid visit to their headquarters in Germany for the final stage.
