Postdoc - Global Oral Health (f/m/d)

The Institute of Global Health at Heidelberg University, Germany’s oldest university and a leading hub for health-related research in Europe, is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral research fellow in global oral health. Through research and teaching, the Section for Oral Health aims to contribute to optimizing oral health as an integral part of overall wellbeing. The group carries out research regionally and globally, with a particular focus on poor and vulnerable groups. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to and be involved in collaborative research projects with academic partners and public health organisations such as the World Health Organization. Key areas of interest include (but are not limited to):

• Developing and evaluating interventions to improve oral health in underserved populations.
• Investigating the impact of climate change on oral health.
• Implementing climate-smart approaches to oral health care.
• Applying data analytics and epidemiology to global oral health research.
• Conducting health systems and policy research to inform evidence-based oral health policymaking.

Your Tasks

• Lead global oral health research and contribute to project management
• Publish in high-impact peer-review journals
• Contribute to the development of new research projects
• Contribute to acquisition of third-party funding
• Contribute to teaching activities and supervision of doctoral students

Your Profile

• You have a doctoral degree in global health, public health, epidemiology, or a related field
• You have strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills
• You have a good track‑record in scientific research as evidenced by publications in international academic journals
• Good communication skills in English; good communication skills in German are a plus
• You have good social, communication and organisational skills and are a team player
