PostDoc Position in Bioorganic Chemistry (m/f/d)

Position

We are looking for a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow (m/f/d) to join our team and develop novel reagents and workflows for next‑generation sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize complex oligonucleotide‑conjugates by contemporary bioconjugation techniques and small‑molecule entities by chemical synthesis.
• Establish DNA‑templated proximity reactions for initial testing of new reagent classes.
• Collaborate proactively with project partners from biology, analytics, and sequencing test development to gain deep insight into the relationship between structural design and assay performance.
• Independently plan, execute, and analyze experiments to advance the projects effectively.
• Present scientific progress through internal meetings and scientific conferences to remain at the state of the art in bioorganic synthesis, chemical biology, and surface chemistry.
• Be part of a highly motivated and cross‑functional team.

Qualifications

• PhD in (bio)organic chemistry, chemical biology, or life sciences.
• Profound knowledge in the synthesis of oligonucleotide‑conjugates, preferably in the context of proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids.
• Extensive experience in organic synthesis.
• Hands‑on experience in DNA‑templated reactions, proximity reactions, and nucleic acid detection.
• Clear demonstration of at least one first‑author paper published or accepted in a high‑impact journal.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, passionate, and committed to innovating healthcare through Roche Diagnostics Postdoc Program.
• Excellent English skills required; German is not mandatory.

Start & Duration

This position will be filled with effect September2026 and is limited to 2years.
