The Ruhr University Bochum is accepting applications for the Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Experimental Linguistics in Germany.

Overview

Fixed-term full-time employment, 3 years (TV-L E13).

Full-time employment (39.83 hours/week, TV-L E13). Independent research within a supportive team. Travel funding and professional development opportunities. No teaching obligations. Access to German language courses (DaF).

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within a collaborative research team.
• Collaborate with colleagues across related projects and disciplines as appropriate.
• Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
• Seek travel funding and engage in professional development activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Linguistics or a closely related field.
• Proven expertise in experimental methods and statistical analysis.
• Strong publication record in international peer‑reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in academic English (writing and communication).
• Team spirit and collaborative mindset.
• Desirable: expertise in theoretical semantics/pragmatics and/or computational modeling (e.g., linear OT, Harmonic Grammar, RSA).
• Advantageous: experience supervising students.
