Stellenbeschreibung:

Institution: University of Osnabrück - Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Biology/Chemistry

Research Area: Protein Biochemistry | Molecular Plant Sciences | Plant Physiology | Protein Stability | Post-Translational Modifications | Molecular Biology

The Department of Plant Physiology at the University of Osnabrück is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) at the earliest possible date. The position focuses on protein biochemistry and molecular plant sciences , with research investigating protein half-life, stability, post-translational modifications, and their effects on plant phenotypes and environmental responses.

The position is offered as a Research Assistant at pay scale 13 TV-L, 100% , initially limited to three years with the perspective of an extension to five years.

What You'll Work On

Protein Stability & Half-Life

Investigate the physiological relevance of protein half-life and stability in plants using biochemical, genetic, and molecular biological approaches.

Conduct research in molecular plant biology using both model and non-model plant systems to understand molecular mechanisms underlying plant physiology.

Apply biochemical approaches to investigate protein properties, stability, regulation, and function in plant systems.

Post-Translational Modifications

Study post-translational protein modifications and their influence on plant phenotypes, physiological processes, and environmental responses.

Plant-Environment Interactions

Investigate how molecular changes in proteins affect plant phenotypes and their responses to environmental conditions .

Perform research using complementary in vivo and in vitro experimental approaches to understand protein function and regulation in plants.

The position is aimed at researchers with a strong background in protein biochemistry, molecular plant sciences, plant physiology, molecular biology, or related fields .

Candidates should have an interest in interdisciplinary research combining:

  • Molecular biology
  • Plant sciences
  • Genetics
  • Protein modification and stability

Experience with relevant biochemical, genetic, or molecular biological techniques will be valuable for the research project.

Candidates should be motivated to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment .

What You'll Gain

  • Opportunity to conduct research in protein biochemistry and molecular plant sciences .
  • Work within a developing Department of Plant Physiology .
  • Access to state-of-the-art research equipment and infrastructure .
  • Work in newly renovated laboratories and plant cultivation facilities.
  • Opportunity to collaborate within international interdisciplinary research networks .
  • Collaboration with project partners working in molecular farming, synthetic biology, molecular plant sciences, and protein modifications.
  • Structured training opportunities for early-career researchers .
  • Opportunity to contribute to research investigating plant responses to environmental conditions.
