PostgreSQL Developer / Database Migration Specialist – Security

ProPursuit is currently looking for an experienced Database migration specialist with a strong background in PostgreSQL to work on a highly sensitive aerospace client of ours located in Munich.

Due to the security clearance involved in this role, all candidates must be EU nationals and requires going onsite 2 days per week, with occasional travel to the customer in south Bavaria.

Our customer is currently looking for 3 experienced PostgreSQL Developers, offering a salary up to €90,000 for a senior profile.

Your role:

• You will support a major database migration project from SAP HANA to PostgreSQL in a high-security IT environment.
• Design and implement PostgreSQL schemas, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures
• Analyze existing SAP HANA database structures, views, procedures, and SQLScript logic
• Support the migration of database logic from SAP HANA / SQLScript to PostgreSQL / PL/pgSQL
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and PostgreSQL database performance
• Develop and test migration scripts, data transformation logic, and validation routines
• Document technical decisions and migration steps clearly and reliably

Your profile:

• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience
• Database design, data modelling, schema development, and performance tuning
• PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, or comparable database-side programming
• Linux-based environments and Git or comparable version control systems
• Data migration, ETL, transformation logic, and data validation
• Can analyze complex source systems and translate them into robust PostgreSQL solutions
• Experience with reporting solutions, preferably based on open-source tools
• Experience with SAP HANA, SAP HANA SQL, SQLScript, calculation views, or generated SAP HANA views would be a plus
• Experience with Proxmox or virtualized infrastructure environments would be a plus
