Principal Engineer Compact Modeling and Virtual Prototyping (f/m/div)

As Principal Engineer, you will shape compact models for high-voltage devices in Si and SiC, enabling accurate electro-thermal representations. You will align modeling strategies with cross-functional teams and drive novel methodologies for convergence and portability across sim tools. You will translate Verilog-A models to SPICE and back, advancing the state-of-the-art in device modeling. This role offers impact through collaboration with Infineon's compact modeling community and external coalitions, influencing how simulations inform design decisions.

• Develop physics-based and behavioral compact models for electrical, thermal, and electro-thermal device characteristics (Si/SiC high-voltage MOSFETs, JFETs, diodes, IGBTs)
• Convert baseline models to Verilog-A and create converters to translate Verilog-A to SPICE
• Advance methodologies for model optimization to ensure convergence and portability across simulators
• Verify models using application-oriented test circuits or self-developed datasets
• Assess device behavior under parasitic environments and compare modeling approaches
• Drive continuous advancement of modeling methodologies and measurement techniques
• Support application engineers and align compact model strategies across Infineon groups
• Interface with the Compact Model Coalition (CMC)
• Define tasks, priorities, and approaches with high autonomy and ownership
• Collaborate with multiple users of simulation environments with strong documentation and reporting

• 10+ years of professional experience in semiconductor/device physics with a focus on compact modeling and simulation tools
• Experience applying AI techniques to compact modeling and model development
• Proficiency in Verilog-A for implementing compact models
• Knowledge of optimization and parameter extraction for model calibration
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities
• Independent work style with excellent self-management and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and quality in model calibration and validation
