Principal Engineer (m/f/d) – Post-Silicon Validation / Characterization – Mixed-Signal ASICs

In this role you lead post-silicon validation and characterization of complex mixed-signal ASICs, bridging silicon, circuit design and measurement. You’ll design advanced lab setups, analyze measurements, and translate results into actionable design insights. You work closely with ASIC teams to improve characterization methods and automation, shaping how a lab-driven validation program scales across the organization. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence chip behavior understanding and verification post-silicon.

• Lead and execute post-silicon validation and characterization of complex mixed-signal ASICs
• Design and build sophisticated laboratory measurement setups and continuously improve them
• Characterize ADCs, DACs and other analog/digital circuit blocks
• Perform precision measurements on silicon and, where applicable, at wafer level
• Analyze measurement data and correlate silicon results with simulation and circuit design
• Investigate unexpected silicon behavior and drive debugging and root-cause analysis
• Work closely with ASIC designers and other technical stakeholders to turn measurement results into actionable design insights
• Develop new measurement methodologies, automation approaches and characterization standards
• Use Python, MATLAB or similar tools to automate measurements and analyze large datasets
• Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Physics, Microelectronics or a comparable discipline
• Several years of hands-on experience in ASIC/IC characterization, post-silicon validation or semiconductor measurement
• Strong understanding of mixed-signal circuits, particularly ADCs, DACs and related interfaces
• Extensive practical experience with laboratory measurements and test equipment
• Experience with oscilloscopes, waveform generators, source-measure units and other precision measurement equipment
• Good programming skills in Python, MATLAB or similar environments for test automation and data analysis
• Experience with high-speed, RF or signal-integrity measurements is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to systematically investigate complex technical problems
• A high degree of independence, ownership and technical curiosity
• Fluent English; German is a plus
