Principal/Expert Engineer - Power Module Application and Definition

As Principal/Expert Engineer, you will define power module specifications (IGBT, SiC, GaN) for EV, PV, PCS, and AI-datacenter power, turning market needs into clear PRD and roadmaps. You will lead application scheme definitions, reference designs, and system-level trade-offs to boost competitiveness. You’ll pioneer next-gen module concepts and establish evaluation platforms while collaborating with European universities. This role sits at the core of Huawei’s digital power effort, shaping productization and strategic technology planning.

• Define power module specifications for target segments (EV, PV, PCS, AI datacenter power)
• Lead application scheme definitions and reference designs
• Pioneer next-generation power module concepts
• Establish an evaluation platform for module applications
• Lead joint research with European universities and institutions
• Translate market trends and customer needs into PRD and technical roadmaps
• Drive system-level trade-offs to maximize product competitiveness
• Support product lifecycle from prototyping to production ramp for power modules/converters

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with focus in power electronics or power module
• Deep understanding of power modules and power semiconductors
• Experience with power converter design and power module developments
• Knowledge of IGBT/SiC MOSFET/GaN device physics, loss mechanisms and gate drive/protection architectures
• Experience with system-level design methodologies (electro-thermal co-simulation, lifetime modeling, isolation coordination)
• Familiarity with automotive/industrial standards (AQG324, IEC 60747)
• Full product lifecycle experience from customer requirements to production ramp
• Proven track record of launching power module products in EV or renewable energy markets
