Principal/Senior Engineer - MV DC-DC Power Conversion

Overview

In this role you will lead architecture design, modeling, and component development for medium-voltage (10kV–35kV) DC-DC converters within SSTs. You will shape technical roadmaps aligned with data centers, PV, energy storage, and EV charging demands, collaborating with research institutes to accelerate innovation. You’ll drive end-to-end support for strategic projects, addressing insulation, PD suppression, and thermal management. This is a chance to influence next-gen power conversion globally in a cross-functional team.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Technology Planning: formulate roadmaps for DC-DC power conversion in SST under 10kV–35kV, aligned with market trends.
  • Core Technology R&D: lead architecture, modeling, and key component design for MV high-power isolated DC-DC converters (DAB, LLC, CLLC).
  • MFT design and challenges: lead medium-frequency transformer design, insulation under HV high-frequency, PD suppression, and thermal management.
  • Collaboration and technology transfer: identify opportunities, collaborate with research institutes and universities to incubate and deploy new tech.
  • Technical project support: provide end-to-end technical support for frontline sales, prototype testing, and on-site consultations.
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Seasoned specialist in Solid-State Transformers (SST) and MV high-power isolated DC-DC conversion.
  • Proficiency in topologies: DAB, LLC, CLLC; knowledge of their control schemes.
  • Experience in MFT design, HV insulation, and PD suppression.
  • In-depth research and hands-on development in HV SiC devices, gate drivers, and series voltage balancing control.
  • Full hardware development workflow for MV high-power converters and proven project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with PLECS and capability to perform electric/magnetic field simulations for insulation design.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant industry experience; preferred demonstrated SST development at 6kV/10kV/35kV.
