Overview

In this role you design and maintain automation software for biopharmaceutical systems, acting as a bridge between process design and qualification. You will integrate Sartorius automation platforms with higher-level systems and develop project-specific automation concepts. You collaborate across disciplines to support projects in upstream, downstream, and fill/finish areas, while ensuring thorough documentation and testing. This position offers on-site work in Guxhagen and opportunities to shape automation in a global life-science company.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Develop design documents for automation
Review and approve documents with technical content
Develop and maintain biopharma system software per ISA S88
Integrate automation platforms into higher-level systems (e.g., DeltaV, PCS 7) and create project-specific concepts
Collaborate across disciplines and support projects in upstream/downstream/freeze & thaw areas
Provide on-site technical consulting to customers and capture User Requirements Specifications
Create and maintain system documentation and user manuals
Conduct functional tests and support Factory and Site Acceptance Tests

Zentrale Anforderungen

Technical degree in automation engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or comparable field
Several years of experience programming automation solutions
Solid knowledge of PLCs and DeltaV (or comparable tools)
Knowledge of network communication (Ethernet TCP/UDP) and fieldbus systems (Profinet, Modbus, EtherNet/IP)
Experience with high-level programming languages (desirable)
Initial experience with biopharmaceutical processes (advantage)
Initial experience leading technical projects (plus)
Fluent in German and English; willingness to travel (~15%)
