Procurement Manager DACH

Our client is an international industrial company currently strengthening and transforming its procurement organization across Europe. They are looking for a Procurement Manager to oversee procurement activities in Germany and Switzerland.

This is a strategic and highly visible position acting as the key procurement representative at country level, working closely with both local operational teams and the international procurement organization.

The role combines strategy deployment, supplier management, stakeholder engagement, and strong on-site business partnering.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and execute procurement strategies at local level across Germany and Switzerland
• Lead sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier follow-up
• Manage a broad procurement scope across multiple categories
• Support procurement structuring and governance, including:
  • processes
  • specifications and documentation
  • reporting and data management
• Work closely with local teams including operations, supply chain, and manufacturing sites
• Represent procurement within local leadership discussions
• Contribute to:
  • supply security and supplier risk mitigation
  • operational performance improvement

This role requires both strategic capabilities and a hands‑on approach within an industrial environment.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

• Ideally 10 years of procurement experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
• Experience managing multiple procurement categories and complex supplier topics
• Autonomous, mature, and structured profile

Languages

• Fluent German and English are mandatory

Location & Mobility

• Ideally, someone based around the Heidelberg area, in order to be on‑site three times per week, especially at the beginning.
• Fully remote profiles will not be considered

Preferred Background

• Experience within structured, process‑driven industrial environments is highly appreciated.
• Bachelor’s in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• Additional certifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management are a plus
