Product Developer - Masking, Packaging & Repairing (m/f/d)

As a Product Developer in tesa’s IT&C unit, you advance self-adhesive tape solutions for masking, packaging and repairing applications. You’ll bridge product development, materials science, production and market needs to deliver concepts, qualification and scale-up to serial production. You collaborate across R&D, Marketing, Production and external partners to strengthen our adhesive know-how and portfolio. This role offers exposure to diverse technologies and international teams, with meaningful impact on product performance and sustainability.

• Develop and optimize self-adhesive tape solutions for masking, packaging and repairing applications
• Evaluate, qualify and implement new materials, formulations, components and technologies
• Translate customer, market and business requirements into technical concepts
• Lead product development projects from concept to qualification and implementation
• Build know-how with internal experts, suppliers and research partners
• Identify and qualify new raw materials, technologies and suppliers
• Plan and evaluate lab and application tests for performance validation
• Drive transfer and scale-up from lab/pilot to serial production with manufacturing
• Maintain and improve existing products throughout their lifecycle
• Act as interface between Marketing, Central R&D, Production, Procurement and Quality
• Monitor market and tech developments for innovation and portfolio improvement
• Conduct patent and technology landscape research and contribute to IP protection
• Document development activities and ensure knowledge transfer across the organization

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical field
• Initial professional experience in product development, R&D or related technical environment
• Practical experience with self-adhesive products, polymer technologies, coatings or tape technologies is advantageous
• Structured, analytical and proactive problem-solving approach
• Ability to manage technical projects independently and translate requirements into practical solutions
• Strong interest in understanding customer applications and delivering value
• Team-oriented with collaboration across interdisciplinary and international teams
• Strong communication skills; fluent English; German is a plus
