Product Engineer Senior Java Springboot

Job Description

The Product Engineer architects and designs digital products using modern tools, technologies, frameworks, and systems. The role applies scientific and technological methods to design, implement, test, and document software, and manages running the application in production, ultimately being accountable for success through KPI achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in inception and iteration planning meetings, infusing backlogs with technical input while partnering closely with the product manager.
• Lead and participate in daily standups, cross‑site, and product team standups.
• Lead and participate in retrospectives, encouraging feedback with empathy.
• Participate in high‑level and low‑level component and system designs.
• Participate in performance improvements and tech review meetings.
• Partner in collaboration and strategy alignment across cross‑product portfolios with product managers, peers, and stakeholders.
• Serve as an expert on one or more business domains and advocate multiple technology stacks.
• Coach the team and lead daily practices of paired programming and test‑driven development.
• Establish continuous integration, delivery, and deployment pipelines and practices.
• Provide support for software products in user environments.

Technical Skills

• Experience developing REST APIs with Java Spring Boot, including Swagger, OpenAPI, and API gateways.
• Experience architecting and delivering large‑scale distributed systems or cloud applications using microservices.
• Experience with web and API security (authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, SAML).
• Experience with backend development, database design (MongoDB, caching), and Kafka messaging.
• Knowledge of distributed version control (Git), artifact management, build and packaging systems (Maven, Gradle, npm, Artifactory), and CI tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience working in Agile, paired programming, or engineering models.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Experience with test‑driven development and writing unit tests for full coverage.
• Proficiency in performance bottleneck analysis.

Experience

• 3 or more years of experience (Preferred).

Compensation

$90,700.00 – $153,925.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
