We’re looking for a visionary Product Manager - Battery Systems to join our Strategy Department. As the Product Manager for Battery Systems, you will oversee all aspects of battery technology projects within ELU’s (Electrification Unit of Yanmar) groundbreaking electric off-highway machines. Your role involves managing the lifecycle of battery systems, from concept and development to implementation and performance optimization. Collaborating with global teams in Japan and the Netherlands, you will ensure our battery solutions meet high standards of innovation, safety, and efficiency. You will be the strategic leader driving product vision, aligning it with Yanmar's mission to lead the off-highway electrification market, and ensuring our products meet market demands.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop a competitive high-voltage traction battery product roadmap for off-highway electrification.
• Manage the portfolio of battery projects, ensuring they meet milestones, budgets, and strategic goals.
• Work with multiple stakeholder teams, translating customer and feature needs into requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to deliver successful battery products.
• Align strategies with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze market trends to improve the roadmap (technology, market share, benchmarking).
• Support procurement decisions, including cell chemistry and vendor selection.
• Assist marketing activities like sales promotions, advertising, and content creation.
• Operate independently, establishing yourself as a key stakeholder and topic leader.
• Develop product and technology roadmaps for high-voltage traction batteries in the European off-highway segment.
• Monitor KPIs, profit and loss to meet business and profitability targets.
• Create battery recycling and circularity concepts.
• Drive technology push via product and portfolio management.
• Define product strategies for new and existing markets.
• Benchmark standards and execution.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a Product Manager or similar, ideally in automotive, commercial, or off-highway sectors.
• Proven track record managing large projects and leading international teams.
• Deep understanding of battery technologies, lithium-ion systems, thermal management, and safety standards.
• Degree in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering.
• Experience with product development, business case analysis, P&L, and financial reporting.
• Strong team player with flexibility, capable of working in international teams.
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office tools.
• International experience is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Japanese or German skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel 25–35% domestically and internationally.
