Job Overview

Data Platform Product Manager (m/f/d) – Financial Market Data. Full‑time position in Frankfurt am Main. The role focuses on shaping how data flows into, through, and out of the data platform, supporting accuracy, reliability, and scalability of indices and dependent financial products.

Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Strategy: Own and maintain the product backlog for data products; drive product vision, roadmap and success metrics; balance short‑term operational needs with strategic investments; facilitate planning sessions.
• Data Management: Design and oversee data ingestion pipelines and integration patterns; identify data gaps or quality issues and drive resolution.
• Stakeholder & Requirements Management: Elicit, document and validate business requirements; translate them into technical specifications; conduct workshops, sprint reviews and retrospectives; build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
• Technical Oversight: Review architectural proposals for data storage, processing and API integration; collaborate on data governance standards; monitor performance and data quality KPIs; drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience & Background: 5+ years as Product Manager or Product Owner with a track record in delivering technical services/products in finance; background in banking, portfolio management, asset management, financial data providers or fintech; familiarity with index calculation, reference data, market data or financial benchmarking is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills: Understanding of data pipeline architectures (batch ingestion, API‑based feeds, event‑driven systems); ability to interpret and challenge technical designs; familiarity with agile tooling (Jira, Confluence or equivalent).
• Soft Skills & Mindset: Exceptional translation between business and technical language; structured, analytical thinker; strong written and verbal communication; high ownership and accountability; collaborative and consensus‑building.
• Language & Education: Fluency in English required; German is a plus; degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics or related quantitative field is preferred.
