Product Manager - Self-Service Data Platform (m/f/d) in Renewable Energies

Stellenbeschreibung:

Asset Ocean is a subsidiary of Encavis, one of the leading independent producers of electricity from renewable energy sources. We provide a central solution for the renewable energy sector to manage data from multiple solar and wind farms. Our mission is to improve data management and accelerate decision-making by providing high-quality data access and actionable business insights - helping Encavis scale its decentralized generation portfolio through intelligent data use.

As a Product Owner at Asset Ocean, you own our customer-facing self‑service data platform used across the Encavis Group. You scale a well‑adopted product into the go‑to tool for analysts and decision‑makers, balancing technical depth with an intuitive user experience. Working at the intersection of data, engineering, BI, and user needs, you connect strategy and execution as Product Manager and Product Owner. In close collaboration with Engineering and BI, you drive discovery through delivery and create alignment through regular stakeholder demos—directly enabling better, data‑driven decisions in renewable asset management.

  • Asset Ocean GmbH (Hamburg)
  • Permanent
  • Full-time
  • Mobile Office according to individual arrangements
  • Product Management Experience: You bring proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in B2B SaaS, AI/data products, or platform development—ideally taking products beyond MVP into a mature, widely adopted platform.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: You communicate clearly with senior business users, hold the room confidently, and translate business language into actionable product requirements.
  • Agile & Execution Strength: You are familiar with agile methodologies and modern product management practices and you consistently connect strategy to delivery in a development team setup.
  • Technical Literacy in Data Products: You are comfortable with data-heavy products, APIs, BI tooling, and governance topics; you don’t need to write SQL, but you can read it and reason about it.
  • Analytical, Hands‑On Mindset: You work structured and fast-paced, use data to make decisions, and take ownership from problem framing to measurable outcomes.
  • Language & Presence: You are fluent in English (German is a strong plus) and you are Hamburg-based—or willing to be present regularly, as most stakeholders sit in Hamburg.

Also Nice to Have

  • Domain experience in renewable energy, utilities, commodities, or financial markets.
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Power BI).
  • Experience scaling digital products from MVP to a mature platform.
  • Time spent in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: You own the roadmap for the self‑service portal, data catalogue, and analytical workspaces—deciding what we build next, why it matters, and how success is measured.
  • Discovery & Product Briefs: You run discovery with users across Operations, Risk/ERM, Trading, and Investment and translate insights into clear product briefs the engineering team can work to.
  • From Adopted to Indispensable: You turn steady internal adoption into “can’t‑work‑without‑it” usage by removing friction, increasing capability, and reducing manual support.
  • Self‑Service over Service: You replace manual data hand‑offs and “report‑as‑workbench” patterns with first‑class self‑service workflows so users go from question to decision without engineering support.
  • Cross‑Functional Delivery & Demos: You partner closely with engineering managers, engineers, and BI specialists end‑to‑end and close each delivery cycle with a live stakeholder demo.
  • Metrics‑Led Prioritization & Value Storytelling: You use adoption, satisfaction, and usage data to prioritize and you make Asset Ocean’s impact visible through a clear product/service catalogue and stories that travel across the group.
