Professor of Violin

The State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart is seeking to fill a full-time position for a Professor of Violin starting in the winter semester of 2027/2028. The ideal candidate should be an internationally recognized artist with a strong reputation in the concert world and several years of teaching experience at the university level. A key responsibility will be to establish a violin class with international reach. Candidates must have a relevant university degree and be present in Stuttgart, actively engaging in all areas of academic self-administration.The appointment will typically be limited to three years for first-time professors, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent civil service position if qualifications are met. The teaching obligation is currently set at 20 semester hours per week for a full-time role.
