Your tasks The successful candidate is expected to have a comprehensive perspective on how macroeconomic forces, global markets, international trade structures and policy environments shape long-term economic performance. This includes the ability to integrate empirical-statistical methods, rigorous macroeconomic analysis and global policy insights into teaching and research that support future managers, financial professionals and decision-makers operating in an increasingly interconnected world. The role covers a broad spectrum of economic topics relevant to modern management education, including (but not limited to): Macroeconomic policy, politics and financial markets Global economics and international trade Empirical-statistical foundations for Master in Finance and Management-oriented programs Key economic issues for managers in corporate and financial contexts The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in shaping the school’s economics portfolio and contribute to HHL’s ambition to educate responsible leaders capable of interpreting global macro-financial developments, policy shifts and international market dynamics. Your profile We particularly value candidates with a strong analytical and empirical background, ideally in applied macroeconomics, international economics, econometrics or finance-related economics, supported by a clear research trajectory. who actively bridge disciplinary boundaries, connecting macroeconomics, finance, political economy and management-relevant economic insights. who combine rigorous scholarly work with state-of-the-art teaching at graduate and executive levels, fostering economic literacy that empowers future leaders to navigate global complexity. Applicants should have passed a positive evaluation either as junior/assistant professor via “Habilitation” or equivalent qualifications, a proof of suitability for university teaching (Master & Doctoral level) and engage in international academic networks.
