• Inequality across dimensions such as age, class, education, ethnicity, gender, income, language, race, wealth , as well as systemic dimensions like level of development and region

Research may address the local, regional, national, or international level , with open geographic focus and historical scope.

• PhD in Political Science or a related discipline with a clear political science focus
• Outstanding record of academic achievement , including internationally recognized research in politics and inequality
• Experience in securing research funding
• Strong teaching record in the area of expertise and ability to teach general political science courses

The position is based at the Department of Political Science (IPZ) , offering a dynamic, collaborative, and international environment with generous support for research and teaching. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation, national funding bodies, and the European Union .

Teaching may be conducted in English . Non-German-speaking candidates are expected to acquire a working knowledge of German within the first three years .
