Project Development Manager

I’m working with an international renewable energy developer expanding its presence in the German market, with a focus on utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS) and hybrid projects.

They’re looking for a Project Development Manager to take ownership of projects from early-stage opportunity identification through to permitting and final approvals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Identify and assess land opportunities and development projects across Germany.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, municipalities and key stakeholders to secure development rights.
• Manage permitting processes, including land-use planning and securing the necessary approvals.
• Coordinate environmental, planning and technical consultants, alongside due diligence and feasibility assessments.
• Oversee project budgets, manage development risks and drive projects towards key milestones.

What they’re looking for:

• 4+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar PV project development.
• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with BESS projects in Germany.
• A proven track record of navigating German permitting processes and securing final approvals.
• Strong knowledge of German planning regulations, land-use procedures and stakeholder negotiations.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.

Location: Frankfurt or Northern Germany, with hybrid working.

This is an opportunity to join an internationally backed renewables platform with an established global portfolio and ambitious plans for growth in Germany.
