Siemens Energy

Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d) – HVDC Portfolio

Stellenbeschreibung:

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Engineering Manager (f/m/d), you lead the project engineering team on major offer or execution projects for HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current converter) or FACTS SynCon stations; you may also contribute to projects in the Power Plant or Hydrogen business. The position involves managing interfaces among disciplines and partners (internal and external), ensuring engineering deliverables meet quality and timing requirements, proactively managing engineering risks and opportunities, and ensuring compliance with technical contract requirements and documentation standards, all contributing to the success of Siemens Energy’s business portfolio.

After aligning within the Project Management Team, including the General Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager, you engage in a vital discussion with the consortium partner to refine project requirements. Following this, you conduct a status meeting with your international engineering team on the 3D model, ensuring detailed coordination and compliance with project requirements. You also hold individual meetings with team members to address process and collaboration improvements. The day wraps up with a discussion with Site Management, setting the focus for your upcoming site visit.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Provide leadership, integration, coaching, and motivation to the project engineering teams by coordinating disciplines, role‑modeling Siemens Energy Values and Leadership Essentials, and using digital means to enhance processes and way of working.
  • Maintain a data‑based overview of engineering progress, quality, and timing to manage interfaces between disciplines and partners and implement processes that ensure engineering deliverables meet contract, legal, standard, and site requirements and are technically consistent and on time.
  • Effectively support project management activities in tender and execution projects with engineering‑related contributions regarding requirements management, a workable engineering project schedule, proactive risk and opportunity management, cost controlling, claim management, etc.
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process by providing lessons learned and solutions to further develop standards and ways of working beyond your project.

What You Bring

  • University degree in an HVDC‑related engineering field, preferably electrical engineering, with long-standing industry experience and a minimum of 5 years in technical project management; additional site management experience is welcome.
  • Demonstrated ability in engineering fields of the energy infrastructure business and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) market within a project team.
  • Applied knowledge of project management principles and methods.
  • Experience leading an international, globally dispersed project engineering team to achieve high performance.
  • A strong customer focus, including the ability to adapt strategies and actions to meet dynamic environment needs.
  • Flexibility and willingness to be present for limited periods (max. 25 %) on sites, at customers, and with third parties worldwide as project needs dictate.
  • Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages, especially German, are an advantage.
