Project Leader, Risk & Compliance – Market & Commodity Risk (Energy Trading) – Stuttgart, Germany

What You’ll Do

• Lead cross-functional and cross-industry project teams to develop tailored market and commodity trading and risk solutions, with a strong focus on energy trading environments (power, gas, oil)
• Drive global projects focusing on topics such as trading strategy, market entry strategies, business and operating models, transfer concepts, risk governance systems, AI and technology transformation and implementation
• Contribute to thought leadership on topics such as AI and tech in commodity trading, adapting business and operating models to changes in volatility in energy and other commodity markets, regulatory developments, and digital/AI‑driven risk management solutions
• Support clients in optimizing energy trading operations, including risk governance, limit frameworks, stress testing, and integration of front-to-back risk processes
• Build strong partnerships with BCG and client project teams, providing on‑site expertise and guidance on commodity markets and trading risk transformation
• Mentor and coach consultants to support their continuous professional development in risk analytics, trading strategies, and commodity market dynamics

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in Market & Commodity Risk: Several years of experience leading projects in trading or market, credit, and liquidity risk, ideally within energy trading, commodity‑focused industries
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional, international teams and deliver complex transformation programs in dynamic trading environments
• Consulting Experience: Experience advising senior stakeholders on commodity risk, optimization and trading related topics in commodity‑driven businesses
• Digital & Analytical Capabilities: Familiarity with advanced analytics, risk systems, and digital tools supporting trading and risk management
• Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively at the C‑suite level and build trusted, long‑term client relationships
• Fluent oral and written language skills: English (client‑ready); German a plus
