Our client is an innovative energy technology company focused on accelerating the transition towards a cleaner, more flexible energy system. The business develops and delivers large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that support renewable energy integration, grid stability and the future of Germany’s power infrastructure.

With a multi-gigawatt development pipeline across Germany and Europe, the company is building a significant portfolio of utility-scale energy storage projects. Backed by a growing international team and experienced investors, they are scaling their operations to deliver some of the most important BESS projects in the market, with individual projects ranging from 50MW+ to several hundred megawatt-scale installations.

The company is now expanding its project delivery capabilities and is looking for an experienced Project Management Lead to help drive successful execution across its growing portfolio.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking a Project Management Lead to oversee the delivery of large-scale Battery Energy Storage projects across Germany.

This role will take responsibility for establishing strong project management processes, leading project teams and ensuring successful delivery from development through construction, commissioning and operational handover. You will act as a key interface between internal teams, contractors, investors and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project management function for utility-scale BESS projects across Germany.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, from development and permitting through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, quality standards and delivery targets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction and commercial functions.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, suppliers, authorities, investors and other key stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies and drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes.
• Provide regular updates and reporting to senior management and investment stakeholders.

About You

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale infrastructure, renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Previous experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is highly desirable.
• Proven track record leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of project execution, contract management and stakeholder coordination.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Fluent German and English skills.
• Willingness to travel within Germany when required.
