Excelitas is a global technology leader, focused on delivering market‑driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end‑users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security and aerospace sectors.

The Goettingen site is the centre of excellence for the development and production of photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market, supplying highly complex opto‑mechanical modules, subsystems and components for lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging. The site also manufactures and supplies a broad range of optical and mechanical components, including complete optical systems, to support scientific research and development as well as industrial production.

Your Responsibilities

As an experienced Project Manager (m/f/d), you will take on the responsibility of leading challenging development projects in the field of optical components and systems for the Semiconductor Equipment Business Unit. You will independently manage projects from conception through to successful completion and play a key role in the success of our innovations.

• Lead development projects or coordinate complex sub‑projects in high‑precision optical components and systems, including managing transfer projects between Excelitas locations.
• Plan work packages, costs, and timelines in detail using project‑management tools and methods to ensure efficient execution.
• Organise and lead interdisciplinary teams, promote effective collaboration, and ensure communication within the project team and with external partners.
• Contribute to the development of technical concepts and ensure compliance with specifications, costs, and schedules.
• Identify potential risks early, assess their impact, and develop proactive, solution‑oriented measures.
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates on project status.
• Represent the project team and its results internally and to clients.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with strong project‑management skills and a passion for technological innovations in the semiconductor sector.

• Education: Degree in physics, mechanical engineering, precision engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields; preferably with in‑depth knowledge of technical optics or optical instrument engineering.
• Experience: Several years of leading projects or complex sub‑projects; proficiency in common project‑management tools and methods.
• Communication skills: Excellent communication and the ability to interact confidently with national and international partners and customers.
• Personal skills: Teamwork, conflict resolution, assertiveness, resilience, and flexibility.
• Work style: Independent, structured, and results‑oriented.
• Willingness to travel internationally for business.
