Project Manager – Spectrometer Development

Responsibilities

• Lead development projects while actively working on the systems
• Develop new spectrometer concepts and optical designs
• Define requirements and develop system architectures
• Build and test prototypes in the laboratory
• Analyze and optimize spectral resolution, efficiency, and stray light
• Coordinate development with mechanical, electronics, firmware, and production engineers
• Collaborate with external suppliers
• Support new products from concept through to series production

Requirements

• Degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics or a related field
• Several years of professional experience (approx. 3–5 years) as a project manager in optical systems or spectroscopy
• Solid hands‑on experience in assembling and testing optical systems
• Strong interest in independently implementing and advancing technical projects
• Structured, solution‑oriented way of working and a strong affinity for practical development work
• Very good communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
