This position reports to: Local Division Manager Traction Germany
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of complex customer projects in the railway traction sector, ensuring successful delivery across technical, commercial, and contractual dimensions. Each day, you will drive project execution from handover to final acceptance, acting as the central interface for customers and internal stakeholders. You will also showcase your expertise by leading cross‑functional teams and ensuring project targets in terms of time, cost, quality, and performance are consistently achieved.
It will be a hybrid model.
This role is contributing to the Traction division within the Motion Business Area in Mannheim or Minden. Main stakeholders are customers, sales, engineering, operations, service, controlling, legal, and external partners.
- Leading complex traction projects end-to-end, with full accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and profitability.
- Defining and executing the project strategy, including planning, resource management, and ensuring effective project governance (e.g. risk management, reviews, audits).
- Managing contractual and commercial aspects, including project handover from sales, contract execution, claims, and change management.
- Acting as the main interface to customers and stakeholders, leading technical and commercial discussions at project and management level.
- Coordinating and leading cross‑functional project teams and ensuring transparent, solution‑oriented collaboration across all involved functions.
- Driving successful project closure, including customer acceptance, contract close‑out, and handover to service.

Qualifications for the Role
- You are highly skilled in project management methodologies and tools and enjoy working in the railway and traction technology market.
- You have several years (5+ years) of experience in project management, ideally within railway, rolling stock, or electrical drive systems projects.
- You possess strong expertise in contract and claim management, financial steering, and risk management.
- You are highly adept in MS Project and SAP (ideally R/3 modules such as SD and PS).
- You are passionate about stakeholder management and leading cross‑functional teams in complex environments.
- Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a certified technician background with relevant experience.
- You are at ease communicating in German and English (both fluent).
- You hold a valid work permit for Germany.
