Psychiatrist (Part-Time) - Contract

About the Psychiatrist, Part‑Time (Contract) Role with Headspace

We are seeking an IMLCC eligible 1099 licensed psychiatrist contractor to provide direct, virtual care as part of a multidisciplinary team. Psychiatrists will provide care only to members who reside in states in which they are licensed. The hourly rate is $190–$195 per session. Contractors are expected to provide a minimum of 10 hours per week and may offer more depending on availability. The work must be performed in the United States (the 50 states only). Preference will be given to providers licensed in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kentucky, District of Columbia, Arkansas, Idaho, and Illinois.

What you will do

Direct Care

• Provide high‑quality, innovative tele‑psychiatry to Headspace patients over a HIPAA‑compliant video conferencing platform.
• Complete, sign, and lock clinical case notes within 24 hours of session.
• Maintain a personalized database to record evidence of licensure, license updates, expiration dates, personal information, etc.
• Stay up to date with clinical leadership communication (checking and responding to emails in a timely fashion).
• Work with a collaborative care team including mental health coaches, other therapists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and external care providers, participating in weekly all‑team meetings and weekly consultation groups.

Required Background

• Must be available for at least 10 hours per week. Night and weekend flexibility is a plus.
• MD with completion of accredited psychiatry residency – BE/BC.
• License to practice psychiatry.
• Licensure in multiple states is highly valued; specifically must be IMLCC eligible.
• Cross‑licensed or willing to cross‑license in multiple full‑scope states.
• 3+ years of experience providing clinical psychiatry services.
• Experience with tele‑psychiatry highly valued.
• Willingness and confidence to integrate cutting‑edge technology into all aspects of care.
• Clinical competence in psychopharmacology and evidence‑based practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, etc.).
• Knowledge of current research to integrate into practice.
• Familiarity, comfort, and confidence with technology – various applications, tech tools, Google web‑apps, video conferencing, EMR, etc.
• Tech‑savviness is a must.

Headspace participates in the E‑Verify Program. All member records are protected according to our Privacy Policy. As an employee, you will not have access to Headspace products/services, but you will be offered benefits per the company’s plan. We avoid dual relationships: a provider should not hold a manager or other significant relationship with a client in addition to the therapeutic relationship. If you have a Headspace account, it will be deactivated during employment.
