QA Engineer (Mobile)

Job title: Senior QA Engineer (Mobile)

Job type: Contract

Contract Length: 12 months.

Rate: €400 per day

Role Location: Berlin, Germany (Hybrid – 2 days per week on-site)

All candidates must be based in Germany, and able to work B2B/as a contractor to be considered. Those who cannot will not be considered.

The Company

An established European fintech company providing payment infrastructure to e-commerce and retail businesses across multiple countries. The team you'd join supports mobile point-of-sale applications used by merchants in retail and hospitality settings.

Role And Responsibilities

• Test Android and iOS point-of-sale applications that connect with card payment terminals, receipt printers and barcode scanners
• Build and maintain test automation in TypeScript, integrated with the team's test management tooling
• Design and maintain test plans for new and existing features, keeping test case coverage up to date
• Test communication between in-house applications, including customer-facing displays
• Cover API and database testing across teams
• Take an active role in exploring AI tools to support day-to-day QA work
• Take part in code reviews and testing across multiple environments

Job Requirements

• 4+ years' experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android
• Test automation experience in TypeScript with tools such as Appium or similar cloud device testing platforms
• Strong background in test case design and structured test planning
• Solid knowledge of data structures and databases, particularly PostgreSQL and SQLite
• Experience testing APIs, for example with Postman
• Experience testing hardware devices and inter-device communication
• Experience in release management
• Fintech, payments, retail or hospitality POS background is a plus
• Playwright and Selenoid experience is a plus
