Quality Assurance Engineer - Development

In this role you ensure quality across the development lifecycle within a defence AI context. You will maintain and improve the QMS to EN 9100/ISO 9001 and AQAP standards while acting as the QA lead on software-heavy programmes. You’ll translate complex contract and regulatory requirements into practical quality plans and oversee their execution with cross-functional teams. • Maintain and improve the QMS to EN 9100 (incl. ISO 9001) and AQAP standards across the organisation
• Plan, manage, and conduct internal QMS audits and support third-party/customer audits
• Act as the responsible QA Engineer on programmes, signing off on quality plans and overseeing quality-compliant execution
• Apply development assurance to software-intensive programmes, ensuring software quality requirements are embedded and verifiable
• Liaise with process owners and external stakeholders, representing the Quality function at customer interfaces

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance in aerospace, defence, or another regulated industry
• Solid working knowledge of EN 9100 (incl. ISO 9001); familiarity with AQAP 2110/2210/2310 is a strong advantage
• Experience with development assurance in software-intensive environments
• Hands-on experience conducting audits (internal or external) and working with quality plans in a project context
• English and German communication (written and spoken) with multicultural teams and regulatory interfaces
• Ability to manage competing priorities across QMS and programme workstreams; comfortable navigating ambiguity
• University degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
