Regional Data Center Technical Lead

Salary: Up to €110k + bonus and company car

Location: Frankfurt/Hybrid

The Regional Data Center Technical Lead will oversee the technical direction and standards across multiple data center sites within a defined region. This role is responsible for defining the long-term technical roadmap, mentoring and developing the competence of the technical team, and ensuring consistent application of best practices and procedures. The successful candidate will support business development activities by contributing to RFIs, RFPs, solution proposals, and presentations. They will also participate in the recruitment process for key technical positions such as Data Center Manager and Technical Supervisor.

The role includes oversight of the development and implementation of all operational procedures, CE documentation, and guidelines to maintain high standards of data centre operations. The candidate must have a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical infrastructure specific to data centers, including equipment such as generators, chillers, UPS systems, fire detection and extinguishing systems, and cable distribution.

This position requires excellent organisational and multitasking skills, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and strong analytical problem-solving capabilities. Occasional travel to support operations, training, and business reviews is expected, including flexible working hours and occasional night shifts to meet business needs.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field (mechanical, electrical, building technology preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of data center equipment (generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, liquid cooling, electrical sub-distribution, fire detection/extinguishing, cable distribution)
• Technical expertise in electrical and mechanical infrastructure within data center environments
• Experience in mentoring and developing technical teams
• Ability to define and implement technical roadmaps and standards
• Strong organisational, coordination, and multitasking skills
• Analytical skills with experience solving problems in large-scale systems
• Experience supporting business development through RFIs, RFPs, and solution proposals
• Participation in recruitment and team building for key technical roles
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours, including nights
