Join the world‑class safety culture at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be part of supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team as a Regional Safety Engineer. In this role you will own the Health and Safety function for your region, working closely with data center engineers, security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to advance safety culture, protect employees, and manage safety operations for data centers. You will partner with employees and contractors to achieve safety goals, identify and mitigate risks before live operations, and advocate safe changes in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Implement safety standards, policies and best practices.
  • Provision and manage training: induction, refresher, manual handling, and maintain training database.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors (general contractors, sub‑contractors, emergency services) on operations and construction.
  • Ensure compliance with global safety programs and local regulatory legislation.
  • Develop and review safety plans for on‑site emergencies, special events and other unique safety situations.
  • Perform safety data analysis and create benchmarking.
  • Maintain safety record keeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives.
  • Consult with compliance teams on safety regulation interpretations and investigations.
  • Develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
  • Adapt to fast‑paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, strategy and deadlines.
  • Provide safety support to regions outside of local cluster when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role.
  • Experience working effectively across cross‑functional teams and partnering with people at all levels within an organization.
  • Experience in relevant industries such as law, customer service, investigations or project management.
  • Nationality of an EU member state.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SQL data manipulation.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques.
  • Experience working in risk/fraud analysis or in compliance organizations.
