Registered Nurse - Nurse Educator - Bleeding Disorders

Position Summary

This role is located on the East Coast; you must hold a compact license and reside in a compact state. The position requires up to 75% travel, including overnight, and reports to the CVS Specialty Nursing Director and Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and/or education to nursing staff caring for patients with bleeding disorders or sickle cell anemia.
  • Work with nurse specialists to identify and train Coram and/or Home Health Agency nurses who lack bleeding disorder or sickle cell disease training, delivering training individually or in group settings, in person or virtually.
  • Market company services, including educational programs related to all aspects of bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and sickle cell disease management, to existing patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff and other customers through personal visits.
  • Maintain and develop established account relationships within the assigned region or territory.
  • Conduct clinical presentations for physicians, nurses, social workers, hospital administrators, and pharmacy professionals.
  • Create and conduct educational or training presentations for customers, support groups, and other stakeholders in the bleeding disorder and sickle cell communities.
  • Update educational materials as needed.
  • Coordinate clinical sales efforts with internal resources such as marketing, reimbursement, payor teams, program management, and nursing.
  • Present CE programs to medical practice offices, home health agency nurses, and other stakeholders as requested.
  • Provide school presentations and accompanying materials to school nurses and staff to assist students and families affected by a bleeding disorder or sickle cell disease in smoothly transitioning to a school program.
  • Maintain current clinical and product knowledge and awareness of competitors’ activities through field reviews and internal information.
  • Establish daily goals, follow up contacts, and devise appropriate marketing strategies.
  • Support and network within the bleeding disorder and sickle cell communities, attending local, regional and national events and conferences.
  • Partner with the bleeding disorder and oncology field sales team and the payor team to troubleshoot payor issues involving hemophilia members.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail, work independently, exhibit a strong work ethic, outgoing personality, and positive attitude.
  • Provide excellent follow‑up and effective time‑management skills.
  • Represent CVS Health in a professional manner at all functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) residing in a compact state holding a multistate license.
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including hematology, sickle cell, and bleeding disorder expertise.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 75% of the time as required by business needs.
  • Valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and virtual platforms such as WebEx.
  • Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills.

Education

RN Diploma, Associate’s or B.S. degree in nursing. Additional educational achievements related to hemophilia or sickle cell disease are a plus.
