Overview

In this role you will own the end-to-end IBM i release lifecycle for DMS applications, driving planning, packaging, and deployment with minimal business disruption. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, maintain a single source of truth for release content and versions, and lead pilot programs and staged rollouts. You will chair release readiness and Go-Live meetings, monitor post-deployment health, and deliver dashboards and executive updates. This position offers impact through structured release governance, clear stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement of deployment processes.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Plan and own end-to-end release lifecycle for IBM i applications (scheduling, scope, risk, rollback)
Maintain release manifest and single source of truth for features, change requests, and versions
Track and validate component versions across environments and ensure CIs are recorded
Coordinate build packaging, versioning, and deployment artifacts with development, CM and operations
Run pilot programs with dealers: plan, validate, collect feedback, log issues, go/no-go decisions
Plan and execute staged rollouts to dealers with phased scheduling, dependencies, windows and cutover
Create and maintain runbooks, deployment playbooks, and rollback procedures
Lead cross-functional release readiness reviews and chair Release/Go-Live meetings
Monitor post-deployment health, coordinate hotfixes, and conduct post-implementation reviews
Produce release status dashboards, KPIs and executive reports
Escalate risks and manage stakeholder expectations with clear communication

Zentrale Anforderungen

10+ years with IBM i (AS/400/IBM iSeries) environments or IBM i-based applications
Hands-on familiarity with IBM i objects, libraries, save-restore methods, PTFs, and deployment/update approaches
Experience in release management, deployment coordination or configuration management for enterprise systems
