Research and Development Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role you will lead the electrical and electromechanical development of low-voltage power distribution systems. You will translate requirements into robust designs and own technical aspects of new products. You will develop solutions for distribution cabinets and enclosures while ensuring compliance and manufacturability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful product introductions and knowledge sharing. • Develop electrical and electromechanical systems for low-voltage distribution
• Translate specifications, standards, and customer needs into robust designs with a focus on new product development
• Develop solutions for electrical power distribution systems, metering cabinets, and sub-distribution enclosures in compliance with standards
• Create and manage technical documentation, drawings, and 3D design data using tools like EPLAN
• Perform analyses, simulations, testing, and validation to meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and cost
• Work with R&D, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing for product development and market introduction
• Identify new concepts, evaluate emerging technologies, and share expertise through reviews and reports
• Maintain connections with industry groups and standards organizations to stay updated on trends and strengthen expertise

• 5+ years in design and development of low-voltage distribution systems, metering cabinets, and electromechanical products
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution layouts, circuit diagrams, and installation concepts
• Experience creating electrical schematics, cable routing, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
• Knowledge of IEC 61439, DIN VDE 0603, and VDE AR-N 4100
• Experience with product testing, validation, type testing, and collaboration with certification bodies
• Proficiency with BOM management and PLM systems, preferably PTC Windchill
• Proven project or work package management with cross-functional coordination
• Willingness to grow into higher responsibility roles
