Helsing

RF & EMC Engineer

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

In this role you own the electromagnetic architecture of Helsing’s drone platforms, guiding RF and EMC from design to certification. You’ll coordinate across electronics, mechanical and systems teams to ensure electromagnetic cleanliness and robust operation in complex radio environments. You’ll drive test campaigns, define interfaces and translate analyses into concrete design requirements. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape secure, high-assurance defence technology.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Define and own the platform-level RF and EMC concept from early design through certification, including antenna placement, frequency management, co-site interference analysis and traceability across system to components.
  • Perform platform-level RF and EMC analyses (link budgets, antenna patterns, shielding, conducted/radiated interference) and translate results into design requirements for electronics, mechanical and systems teams.
  • Collaborate with radio engineers to define clean RF interfaces across C2 links, datalinks, GNSS and SATCOM, ensuring co-existence across the platform radio architecture.
  • Guide and support EMC test campaigns at board, LRU, system and platform levels, providing strategy, setup guidance and root-cause analysis for non-conformances.
  • Write and maintain EMC control plans, test plans, RF interface documents and analysis reports for defence/aerospace programme compliance.
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Owned RF and EMC engineering within aerospace, UAV or defence programmes with antenna selection/placement and understanding of radiation patterns and co-site interference.
  • Performed platform-level EMC analyses (emissions, susceptibility, shielding, bonding/grounding) and supported or led tests against MIL-STD-461 or DO-160.
  • Ability to produce link budgets and RF system analyses and translate them into antenna and radio system requirements (C2, datalinks, GNSS, SATCOM) and manage co-existence challenges.
