Senior Lead Model Developer – Credit Risk

Group Strategic Analytics is part of the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) and acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to support the Bank’s efficiency, control and transformation goals. The role is within the Credit Risk Modelling Strats and focuses on the development and maintenance of PD models for the Group’s credit portfolios within the Corporate Rating Methodologies team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, calibrate, monitor and maintain credit risk parameter methodologies for Deutsche Bank in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. EU Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and European Banking Authority’s guidelines on Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD)).
• Present models to regulators and internal review functions.
• Resolve regulatory and internal findings related to the methodology of credit risk parameters or associated models.
• Interact with senior management and stakeholders across Business, Credit Risk Management, Finance and Capital Management.
• Lead the complete lifecycle of models and serve as the central point of contact for one or more models within Corporate Rating PD methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematical Finance, Statistics, Econometrics) with a focus on translating theory into practice.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk and relevant regulations for credit risk parameter modelling (PD, LGD, CCF) and several years of experience in internal model development.
• Analytical skills with proven ability to manage and optimise large datasets, advanced statistical techniques and hands‑on experience with SAS and Python.
• Experience delivering complex model development projects requiring cross‑functional stakeholder coordination and execution of regulatory audits and external reviews.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines, delivering structured results under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
