Safety Manager (System Safety)

Overview

In this role, you lead the system-safety domain across Helsing’s platforms, owning the System Safety Programme Plan (SSPP) and coordinating hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety architecture. You ensure safety requirements are traceable to system functions and align weapon-specific safety needs with the lifecycle. You drive compliance with safety regulations and standards, delivering safe-by-design and safe-in-field weapon systems. You will work within cross-functional, international contexts to reduce risk and protect democracies through rigorous safety practices.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Develop and maintain the System Safety Programme Plan (SSPP) as the authoritative reference for all system-safety activities
  • Coordinate hazard identification, preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment across the system safety lifecycle
  • Define and govern system-level safety architecture, ensuring full traceability of safety requirements to system functions
  • Aide the process of getting newly developed systems into service by assessing system safety and deriving necessary evidence (e.g. SAR)
  • Lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of weapon-specific safety requirements, integrating them into the system safety lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards across all system-wide safety deliverables
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • Lead system-safety programmes and own artefacts such as the SSPP end to end
  • Conduct hazard identification, PHA and risk assessment across complex systems
  • Define system-level safety architecture and maintain traceability from requirements to functions
  • Assess and mitigate weapon-specific safety requirements within a system safety lifecycle
  • Interpret and apply relevant safety regulations and standards in a defence or safety-critical context
  • Communicate fluently in German and English (C1 or equivalent) to collaborate internationally and locally
