Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and implementing growth strategies in the field of allergy and autoimmune diagnostics. The role combines classic business development with market development tasks, including the analysis of market potentials, the development of new diagnostic pathways, and influencing relevant stakeholders in the field of allergy and autoimmune diagnostics.

Location

Ideally based in West‑Germany, Hamburg or Munich.

Core Objectives of the Role

  • Increase test use and market penetration through strategic development projects.
  • Prioritise and expand key accounts.
  • Modify existing diagnostic pathways in collaboration with laboratories, primary care providers, KOLs and healthcare networks.
  • Establish new business areas and develop long‑term partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Market and Business Development

  • Conduct detailed market and competitor analyses to identify new trends, growth opportunities and diagnostic usage potentials.
  • Develop and implement strategies to open up new markets and customer segments.
  • Initiate new business models or services through changed testing behaviour or new diagnostic paths.

Stakeholder & Laboratory Network Management

  • Establish, maintain and strategically develop relationships with laboratories, GP networks and other stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
  • Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders to drive pathway change and optimise diagnostic care.
  • Participate regularly in meetings, conferences and networking events.

Project & Program Management

  • Manage and implement market development projects, including strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with laboratory account managers, marketing, medical affairs and health economics.
  • Monitor defined KPIs and prepare reports for internal stakeholders.

Business Development Execution

  • Create business cases, offers and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the introduction of new products, services or partnerships.
  • Participate in trade fairs and conferences to actively represent the company.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in economics, natural sciences or health sciences or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, pharmaceuticals (experience with GP’s wished), sales, product management or key account management – ideally in the healthcare or diagnostics market.
  • Proven successful sales experience with strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, MS Office and ideally analysis tools.
